my 'almost ultimate' bag
« on: July 12, 2012, 04:58:48 PM »

After my 'trusty' aero midi bag decided to die at one end, i found myself needing a new bag. After reading through the ultimate bag thread and looking at various videos on youtube from cricket store online and it's just cricket, i decided to buy the woodstock platinum bag, and here it is:

Now you may be wondering how big is this bag compared to the aero midi, the dimensions of the aero are 80cm high x 35cm wide x 35cm high, the woodstocks are 95cm long x 40cm wide x 38cm high. Here is the two bags next to each other:

So as you can see it is quite considerably bigger. Here are a few more pics of the bag:

As you can see, i can fit a lot of kit in this bag, but you might be wondering where my bats are?
In here!:

My two bats easily fit in this nice padded side pocket and there is probably room for a third if they are not in bat covers.
Now of course there are negatives to this bag as no bag will ever be perfect. First of all, the pull strap isn't really that comfortable, so i removed the padded pull strap off theaero bag and attatched it to the woodstock bag which is shown in the second pic. Secondly there is no retractable handle, which i think is essential for a bag that costs £60. However it is still reasonably easy to pull beacuse the pull handle is quite long and is really stable when pulling because of the three wheels

All in all, a really good bag, the material is really thick, big heavy duty zips, more than i can say for the aero bag.

And that was only a seasons use!!

That looks like a great bag, I wish my GM bag had as many pockets as that one - its only got two external ones which is a bit daft.

Yeah that's one of the great things, endless pockets for things like grips, fibreglass tape, sun cream (for the 1 game of the season I need them!) and spare spikes etc. A bad thing about all the pockets is none of them are very deep so I can't get my shoes and spikes in the side pockets :( luckily I have the ayrtek helmet bag I use instead!
