Sorry to say that I don't think it really works. I am happy to be in the minority and say that this is one place where the sticker approach looks a lot better, especially with the branding that H4L has.

The iconographical approach with the chrome and black devil against the coloured flames of hell is completely lost on the two tone engraving. I don't think the branding stands out anywhere near as clearly and the clever and completely unobvious detailing is lost by the simple fact that you only have two colours.

I'm sure most disagree with me though. I prefer the stickers.

Totally agree, not a fan myself but i'm sure the bats will still be great

I think they have a place as a means of identification and giving the buyer confidence in what they are buying if the item is used. I agree with Tim, they seem a little impractical after a few cherry marks and stickering would be better for 90% of it imho. Guess is would need a coat of linseed as well.

Is this actually going to be available, or is it an example of what the engraver can do?

I think laser engraving is a good idea, but not to this extent. All bats you be engraved or stamped with the makers logo to help cut down on fakes.

Well done to the bat geeks for finding pics of this ... It's a sample we had done nothing is set in stone ,but i think it will be a bit like marmite! But as mentioned not sure about the practcality of the face design ,all still in demo stages at the moment .

I was thinking along the same line about - how much impact can this engraving take(I defend a lot of short balls with sticker area of the bat).
Would be great on the back of the bat (if possible).
I love the idea as well - no more addition of weight by adding stickers :D

its a great idea but would surely be better on the back of the bat or maybe for some personalisation on a bat like they do on footy boots these days

I would liek a sticker to put on my bat a bit like the 405 grahame hick

It would be my signature with 203 under it ........ anyone do it for me??

If the engraving was really thin then surely a sticker could be applied into the engraved area. Then perhaps some sort of scuff sheet over it to protect the area, However I think putting a scuff sheet would make it look ugly.

Just a few ideas that popped up
