Flex in a handle
« on: August 30, 2012, 09:43:53 PM »

Was netting tonight, and my bat started feeling a bit weird. Nothing timed very well, and all sounded a bit tinny/hollow. When pushing down slightly on the handle there felt to be a bit of flex. How much should they have in them normally, and how would I find out if there was a problem with it for definite? Have gone from two grips down to 1 also, might this have affected the feel of the middle?

I've had the exact same problem over the past. Purple of the week, started with 2 grips on it and It wasn't sounded right, broken a couple of handles before so checked it and it was quite flexible. People at the club agreed that it felt like it was going, since I've put an extra grip on and it's felt okay. It's all down to you, sometimes it's a psychological thing when really its not as bad as you think, but only you can really tell if it has. I'd say when it goes from a flex to more of a bend
