Darren Sammy's BAS Bat
« on: September 29, 2012, 05:27:39 PM »

To BAS or not to BAS... that is the question. LOL

Huge photo but you can see where he actually took a sharpie and wrote "BAS" on the edge. Either that or the new BAS factory stamp was done by a visually impaired metal worker!

They are super bats but they seem to look very different everytime I see one.
I had the BAS BOW and it was one of the best I had but I didnt like the semi oval handle- BUMMER!

Not sure if this is the case but I was keeping to a batsman who I could have sworn had wrote TON on his bat in biro, I joked to him about it and he said it had slightly work away from sliding in his bat in to give it that shoddy look. apparently he gets asked it alot.

I saw an SF bat that looked the same, it was coloured in but when looking closely looked like it had been stamped then some dye put over it to make it stand out. Was Shaun Findlay of West indies and Jamaica bat so wasn't a duff peice of willow off ebay

they do tend to top up the branding if the brander has not done a good job.

I tried to sand of the TON from a bat an its 2mm thinner each side and you can still see the ink! ( for sale 2.9 made by SS head bat maker and stickered as Helios) £70 posted

Nope.... he wrote "BAS" on with a Sharpie...

You can see the "SM Pintu" hiding behind the the Vampire. HA! I guess the BAS rep gave him stickers. The BAS rep for Canada/US/West Indies lives about 30 minutes from me and did all the Stanford 20/20 stuff that was unlabeled. He also had the WI for a very brief period. Owns this massive house and his basement has a full length net in it. Not very high but it doesn't the job for a personal home net. LOL If he'd let me, I'd spend hours down there looking at those bats and gear.
