So I emailed Ian Mason just for fun and the price for bespoke shoes is £375!!! :O That's insane!

After knowing that price I couldn't sleep!

Not far off the price of a pair of bespoke work shoes, so yes, that's reasonable!

Could be, I haven't spent anything more than £75 on a pair of shoes so excess of £300 did amuse me.

But then these are meant to last for your whole life too!

So putting things in perspective that's true.

Not relavent here but apparently Shoaib Akhtar used to carry five of them. Well he was an international superstar so...affordable for him :)

Only other thing I can think of - if you are netting on a tacky rubber surface and using shoes with a very aggressive tread and deep lugs, they might be providing you with too much grip and forcing your toe forward?

Yeah that is another possibility, try doing your laces really tight (not to restrict blood but tight enough) so that way the foot has no forward movement. Sometimes the mouth of the shoe is fairly big which means when to tie it up there is still room to move and it can be beneficial if you want your ankle/lower leg (shin) area to move about but not good for bowlers.

The way I bowl my front foot always slides after landing but because the shoe laces are done right the shoe moves with the foot rather than just the foot sliding and hitting the front of the shoe. One last thing is insole of the shoe, sometimes socks don't grip the insole and that causes sliding around as well. If you can take off your shoe without undoing the laces while using your other foot to hold the shoe down and pulling your leg up its not tight enough...
