Newbery TT
« on: October 17, 2012, 11:06:49 AM »

I bought a Newbery TT recently and it arrived with me today. The bat is beautifully finished and the stickers are amazing. The only problem I have with it is that it picks up horribly. Has anyone here found that about the TT's.

The bat itself has a nice clean face and it taps up well. I also did not realise how flat the spine was on it. I might give it a net later today to see how I get on with it but I do not think I will get on with the bottom heavy pick up of the bat

I dont think counter balance would work on it. The bat is heavy enough for me as it is without adding more weight to it

Every TT I've tried (both of them!) seemed to pick up really well? Both around 2.10 mark.....maybe you got a 'Friday afternoon' one?  :D

I have put a second grip on the bat and it has made a huge difference to the pick up. I am going to net with it now and do a better review along with pics

I haven't found that TTs pick up heavy - used to own one and picked up a couple of others.
