The hosk's favourites
« on: November 08, 2012, 07:19:37 AM »

We all know Petes love for bats, so would it be possible for Pete hosk to post what his top 10 favourite manufacture/bats are along with pics..... With him using and having so many he must have a few favourites?
Cheers
Tony

To be fair Alvaro, I have many, many bats to add to the bat inventory thread.
But you are right...once I have finished posting the pics of the Salix and Slaz bats from Lords, I will be posting some more reviews in the bat inventory topic.

As for favourites, it's a tough call because I am still testing some! So my faves right now may change a little over Winter nets as some bats may come onto my radar! But I will try to compile a list of 10 or 12 before the start of the 2013 season - which will be based on the bats tested over winter nets  ;)
I am testing a couple of BlankBat bats this evening, along with SAF, GM, Laver, Chase and a few others! So it's not not as though we will be short on contenders!  ;)

I didn't think it was blunt! I thought it was a good point, although I really need to get the camera out and start snapping!  :(

We will get some nice shots of clips of your BlankBats fella!
If they are as good as you say, then they may just mysteriously vanish later!  ;)

just make sure the bowlers are generous in their looping half vollies for you - we only want to hear gunshot noises from imperious drives - or the occaisional hook ;)

We have a bowling machine and we have got some used cricket balls too, just in case we feel the temptation to throw a proper ball down, even if fitness levels are not quite up to International levels just now!  :(

Finishing wise - I would say Salix rate extremely high!
Performance wise, it is difficult to say as I am choosy about my bats and most are extremely good!!!
So for a bat to stick out as being extra special, it has to be really exceptional!

Last season I used a TK Pro which was only 2'9 but a forward defensive timed well will send the ball to the boundary like a missile! Also used a Salix Praestantia Grade 1 which goes as well as the 2 Salix Players bats I have!
Are these the best I have? It's hard to say as I have many which would probably perform equally superbly!

I have around 140 bats now, of which 50 or more are absolutely top notch and another 50 or more are probably very good and would be in a lot of kit bags!
But I also realise that some bats which would be perfect for some people would feel like planks to others!
Therefore the best solution for me would be to do net reviews with friends! That way, there will be 3 or 4 different opinions on the same bats!
