Hi, was hoping someone was about who's had their keeping gloves re-covered by john Copus. Cost of �30 for octopus but have a pair of County LEs from a couple of years ago that I love, perfect fit , nice and supple just like a good woman. I believe there is another company that does recovering but keen to make sure a good job will be done.

I had a pair of Alan Knott slazengers refaced by John �28 for plain pimpled rubber, superb, don't know of anyone else doing it. I've done a couple of pairs myself with rubber I bought from serious cricket.

You could do it like Jack Russell and just stick the rubber on and roughly cut it to the shape of the glove. Check out you tube masterclass with jack russell and you'll see what I mean, but I reckon John Copus is your man.

Not sure if Geoff Wymer would just reface gloves

I used John Copus to re-palm my Salix keeping gloves and he did a great job on them, I have used him many a time for bat repairs as well, very clever man is Mr Copus. Think the best bet is to go through Beckenham cricket specialist now as he no longer has his shop.

Of course, that's the place down the road from me. Now I remember where to take a bat i want adjusting!!!

Yes, we use John for all our bat repairs. Chris is right: he no longer has a shop, but happy to put you in touch with him if you like?

It's not really about how hard it is. It's time, inclination, facilities ~~and other half asking why there is a cricket bat covered in glue in the kitchen clamped to a chair~~.

for keeping gloves. what would be required, some decent glue, either octopus or pimple grip, and a template, some tape to keep new face in place whilst glue dries. anything else?

A good supply of washing pegs, contact adhesive is best but it stinks the place out, I got two sheets of black traditional pimple rubber from select cricket and the template was rubber carefully removed from an old glove.

I glued the fingers first then the thumb, then the palm and trimmed to fit, never as good as a professional but its nice to have a go.

I did think about doing it myself but, I've got visions of rubber pimples being stuck everywhere but on the glove. Oh and I couldn't see anywhere to buy octopus grip?

I'll definately give it a go with an old favourite pair of mine that could do with a new grip
