Glue performance laminates

Was just thinking why not just put the glue on the face a fine vineer then put on a scuff sheet one of the fibreglass ones so not to see through.

I think I know,the answer but what people thoughts

Unless your scuff sheet extends all the way up the blade to cover the splice area too, the join would still be easy to spot.
