Depends on what you are after. You can get them at different widths, but generally speaking, they go from 2.5 inches to 3 inches. I would say about 2.75 inches is ideal! I'll measure my Red Ink one when I get back home from the university library... Assuming my brain stays intact on the way out!

2 and a half inches is standard. They are can be made thinner or wider if needed for the player
