Vitas Cricket
« on: December 07, 2012, 12:58:04 AM »

Hi guys,

Some of you will already know about us, but here's a formal introduction. My name has changed from Jake to VitasCricket to meet the new forum sponsors rules.

Find our website here: www.vitascricket.co.uk

Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/VitasCricket

And like us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/vitascricket

We are the Peterborough areas only specialist Cricket retailer. Robin (the stores owner) and myself are both keen Cricketers, playing Cambs & Hunts Premier League level, we are also both level 2 qualified Cricket coaches. We hope that offering genuine Cricket knowledge over just being salespeople is something that appeals to customers.

We stock many brands including:

Gray Nicolls
Kookaburra
Slazenger
Gunn & Moore (We are GM 5 star approved dealers)
SS
Bellingham & Smith
Millichamp & Hall
Hunts County
Asics
Nike
Masuri
Albion
Aero
Vitas Cricket Lion
& more

We also stock Bradbury and SF, but these are instore only at the moment.

We are more than a Cricket store however. We are lucky to have an indoor net with a bowling machine inside the shop itself. Customers can hire the net for coaching or simple net hire, as well as trying out demo versions of certain bats.

As many retailers do nowadays. We handpick as many bats as possible, ensuring that you, the customer, get the very best piece of wood available. Currently we handpick our bats from:

SS, Slazenger, Hunts County, Bellingham and Smith, Gray Nicolls and Kookaburra

We are in the lucky position geographically to be able to handpick EVERY bat we source, at any time of the year from Kookaburra, Hunts, Bellingham & Smith and SS, not just our initial stock order like many retailers.

We do not claim to be the cheapest retailer out there. But we do try to be very competitive price wise. Combine this with excellent service, vast Cricket knowledge (at least we think...) and FREE DELIVERY on everything; we feel that shopping with us represents great value for money.

We also do bat repair and refurbs, at reasonable prices, usually with a speedy turnaround!

We offer fully customisable teamwear, from a range of top manufacturers as well as our own brand.

We are open from 11am until 7pm every weekday, and from 9am on Saturdays (closing time is seasonal, currently until 1pm for December)

Many thanks, and look out for offers, competitions, and much more from us, coming soon!

Jake

Ever so wet. It's often pretty damp in July!

Go play for Peterborough, their ground should be fine. Drains well too! :)

It's too open, desolate.

I'd never go there for various other reasons anyway.  ;)

desolate, true it is a bit open but pretty nice facility overall I thought. Enjoyed playing there. Well, until the rain came anyway :)

Yeah it's a good club, well run (on the face of it anyway) and good facilities. But I could never call somewhere like that my home club, there's just no charm there, no soul almost.

I like pretty little grounds (even if our pitch isn't in great shape) and to an extent I like being part of a 'little' club, although given our recent success we are probably the biggest club in Peterborough after Peterborough Town.

It's small, enclosed by trees and is just a cricket ground rather than being a faceless sports facility.

The clubhouse is pretty ropey but we are in the process of getting a new one.

I'm far simpler about cricket grounds. First thing I look at is the wicket, then the outfield. Then covers.. Clubhouse wise, I couldn't give a crap about tbh. You can have the most fancy clubhouse but if your wicket isn't good and you lose games to wet weather or play on sticky dogs when you could simply have covers then sod that.

just me of course :)

I should bloody think so too! The only thing that would tempt me away from Mrs Fattus on a naughty week away would be the 'all you can eat' buffet!

Remember, thermal undies can be very alluring!
