Hi I'm wondering should I get a higher or lower middle ? I play on grass wickets and sometimes mats thanks

Is your pitch covered and generally hard? will the bounce never get higher than your shins? Depends which pitch you play on Aiden

I prefer frount foot and avoid backfoot and there's a mix of pitches some bounce high and some stay low

Sounds to me as if you'd benefit from a lower middle then, but I'm by no means an expert

I agree with you, but if some of the pitches bounce, even if he steps to the ball it could get some way up the bat,

If you play the majority of your shots on the front foot, then a low middled bat is probably ideal, but asking a question like that will normally lead to no answers, or worthless answers. Take a look at the bats you've used in the past and middle position and then select one accordingly to what has worked for you in the past.

I'd suggest a Redback Allegience or a Scat as the middles pretty much span most of the bat. Most bat makers on here could make you a bat with a elongated middle i'd imagine.

Also my hattori has a very long middle.

Any of the Salix bats would suit you, or the Gray Nicolls Dynadrive is mid middled and has one of the largest middles on all the bats I own. Indeed all the gray Nicolls bats this year seem to have massive middles.

If you can try getting one of the cric tech impact sheets as will help you determine where you middle ball as I always used low middle bats then found I was hitting majority of ball in middle of bat even on a slow low deck

If you have a new bat or one thats new with a scuff sheet go for a net and you should be able to see pretty clearly where you are hitting the ball most of the time there will be cherry marks and seam marks even if you have knocked it in properly. This will be a good indicator for you. Obviously this will not work with an older bat that is already considerably used.

That's an obvious comment...did you know, if you walk in fresh snow you'll be able to see where you've walked?
