BB Scat Series 1
« on: February 16, 2013, 02:13:16 PM »

Was toying with picking up a new bat to break in over the winter and after speaking to a number of forum sponsors was really taken by the willow on offer from BB amongst others. After a few emails and to be fair to Canners a number of questions on available shapes T20, Prior, SCAT shapes i was still torn and continued deliberating!

Having seen the deal of the century thread i just wasnt able to say no, so plumped for the SCAT series 1 shape for sale (weighing in at 2.10.5).

Despite the snow it arrived within a couple of days snugly packed with 1 grip fitted, toe guard and a anti scuff in the parcel.

The bat has 11ish grains and is well finished, its fitted with an oval handle that thickens slightly on the bottom hand (correct me if I'm wrong there guys). The pick-up is unbelievable for the amount of wood that is there. The edges are between 29 and 30mm at their thickest point, which is quite remarkable for a mid-weight, traditionally shaped bat with no concaving. I have added a picture with my concaved GN to give a image of the spine.

Profile comparison

Dressed after oiling with edge tape and a performance anti scuff from Kieron at Bulldog

I haven't started netting yet but look forward to seeing how she goes in the coming couple of weeks as performs really well off the mallet!

I really like the simplicity of the branding and have to say the guys are great to deal with!

I was a big fan of that shape in the deal of the century thread, looks even  better stickered up! Hope it goes as well as it looks.

Having netted with the bat last week with indoor balls had a hardball net tonight and am very impressed - cracking middle and a large sweetspot that gives full value for shots even if slightly mistimed. If this is a G1, wonder what a LEs like! Definetly need some more mallet work due to some short stuff on the splice but looking forward to it fully played in!

Definetly sold on BB!

What weight is the GN as the BB looks just as big

GN is 2.10 before 2nd grip and face
BB is 2.10.5 before 2nd grip and face

It's concave (GN) vs traditional shape
