I agree with Buzz, take your time, you do not need to change things over night. Be warned some clubs are a nightmare!!!
After winning both the league and the cup last year, over the winter we merged with a club 9 divisions above us. They came third last year but struggled for players for the past two seasons. They are an established club with players who have been in the league a long while, in contrast we have a young enthusiastic membership.
We started nets in November and did not see a player from the other club until late January, then we would get one (different) play at each net. I did think they were taken it in turns. However for the past two weeks they are now finally on board. We run a structured net with players getting the odd bit coaching and throw downs, as well as normal net and they love it.
It can be (and will be) really hard to get players on board, it might feel like your banging your head against a brick wall. But if you do not try who will?
The other option is to move to a better run club. before they all hate you!!!
