Well it was a bit of a trial run buying a bat from the UK and shipping it all the way to little old NZ. I watched the thread everyday and looked at the pictures so many times that the grains were indented into my mind.
Im a big fan of smaller bat makers. Ive only really used Lavers and still do. This bat looked amazing and was in my weight range. I took a gamble and I'm pretty sure I made the right call.
I PM'd BB and they were awesome to deal with, top notch service and just really committed to making you happy. Any way it was bought and sent off with very little fuss.
The only thing that was negative about the postage was my countries stupid customs office who charged me an arm and a leg to release it. I know you have to expect it sometimes but still it was a lot of extra money.
When it finally arrived to me I destroyed the box in seconds and took out a real piece of fine craftsmanship. The finishing was superb and as they said with other stickers on it, you could ask for $800 or more it looked that good.
The pick up and balance was superb and the ping with the mallet was fantastic. Hitting a ball was effortless and it bounced so high. It did put some weight on as it travelled and arrived to me at 2.93 instead of 2.8.
Ive had a couple of nets with it and the balls fly. It has a very large middle which seems to be found with relative ease, something I'm not used to.
If I was being really picky then i would have to say the toe guard may need some changing. I have had an open wicket training with it and the toe always dug in and did not slide. Pretty big deal if your not the fastest between the wickets.
All in all I have been very pleased with the service and also the amazing piece of willow I received. I have just added the link to the thread I bought it from as It looks exactly the same then as it does now.
Thanks to all the guys at BB
