Looks wise from the bats iv seen in shops, I would say that the GM 808 often has the better looking willow compared to the GN 5 star but have had/used bats from both makes that perform well.

If it was my choice I would probably go for a GM Octane 808

I used to have an older GN Powerbow 5 star which was top notch!
But a lot of the 808 GM bats are blasters too!
Looks wise, the GM bats do seem to generally look better cosmetically, but I wouldn't bother going on looks - performance is better!
If I had to choose one, I think it would have to be one of the new model GM bats as I feel that their pressing is more consistent?

I find my GM argon F2 about 1cm shorter than the other normal blade short handle bats.

I use an 808+ and it's a great bat plus looks like G1. The argon/octane bats wouldn't let you down. Not used many GN's but based on my experience and what others have said they appear to be quite hard pressed to start with. All the GN's look big bats so you won't lose out.

Can only echo what others have said. GMs look better but you will find the odd gem of a GN 5 star. The safer bet would be GM though.

I would go with the 808. I find GN's finish is no where as good as GM. Also the grainage will be poorer on the GN

GM 808 for me too.

Performance isn't guaranteed in either case.

So might as well go the pretty one hoping it will go well.

GN have more shockers (lookwise) in every grade than anyone else. Just coz they can get away with it! Some of the legends I have seen, Dear Lord!!
