I think this was on the cards for a while. Surrey haven't seemed to progress all that much in the past year or so.

Having long disliked Adams for his general demeanour and the way he joined and then welched n Yorkshie, I have to say it couldn't have happened to a more deserving bloke!

Whilst I can understand the thinking behind bringing in the likes of Ponting and Smith to help add a bit of experience to what was a very young Surrey side who desperately needed some old heads to look up to I think Adams just went too far. The signings of the likes of Solanki, Lewis, Keedy and Mahmoud whilst all good players are not going to help Surrey in the long term and smacked of short termism. I think he's paid the price for that. Surrey seem to be great at getting players from the youth level to the professional ranks (Dernbach, Meaker, Dunn, Burns etc) but terrible at then developing them further. I see Alec Stewart is temporarily taking charge.......he won't take any **** from anyone! Perfect bloke to kick some backsides!

adams is a bombastic individual handed a very large chequebook

i'm gonna have a guess there are problems that need sorting out and he is not the man to do it

it beggars belief 'no-one knew' of tom maynards drug use, tragic as it was he lost his life in an accident

alec stewart is just the man Surrey need in my opinion

Adams has two big flaws - one, he was a footbal style chequebook manager two he seemed to have a get aught hearing no evil policy.  Surrey have loads of talented youngsters, they should have been given the chance to shine, even if that neccessitated some division 2 cricket.

Adams isn't the guy to learn from. He played hard in your face cricket. Not what the likes of burns ansari and roy need to be taking pointers of. Good signing in solanki to see his career off. Good luck alec stewart.

No-one knew? Not even the people he was out with on the night in question? Yeah, right!

Adams and Surrey was a mismatch. Like Sam Allardyce being in charge at Man U. (Or West Ham, for that matter.)
