Our 1000th Customer
« on: May 01, 2013, 07:42:47 PM »

Congratulations to young Rhys John (@officialrhys10) who today walked into the shop to buy a bat and walked out with a free pair of gloves as well as his new Lion Roar, as he was our 1000th* customer.

Here he is shaking hands with Robin, the owner of Vitas Cricket.

Rhys is going on tour to Sri Lanka with his school soon, hopefully his new bat will bag him a load of runs!

*This is going by the invoice book, in reality we've had a fair few more punters than this, but people don't want receipts for small cash payments on things like accesories and net hire.

Geee! Does Robin work out?

It looks as if he may have broken young Rhys's arm!

Gloves look good Jake, quite a lot like the hammer gloves. I didn't know you did your own kit other than the bats on your website.

We do pads, gloves and a duffle bag.

The softs aren't quite to a level that I'm happy with yet, so I've not pushed them on the forum or put them on the website. They have been pretty popular in store though!

Mr Fattus, Robin loves the gym ;)

He posted scores of 75 and 97* over the weekend.

He's an opening bat who accumulates rather than bunting it like Gayle, I think Gayle would be on many more than 97* if he batted for 45 overs!

Do you have a pic of the duffle bag?

I will post one next week, won't be back into the shop over the weekend as I'll be playing, weather permitting!

I'm assuming he wasn't facing he same standard of bowler that Gayle does?  Still, sounds like a good player, which of your sticks does he use?  And you for that matter?

Also, his arm is actually bigger than the wee dude's head.

He uses GM on Saturdays, I use Gray Nics. We are both staunch Gray Nics men, but he moved to GM as he couldn't stop picking up an Epic Player Edition we had on the shelf. He's got himself another one and all the softs since then.

Sundays and midweek we use the Vitas Cricket range. He has a Lion Flame and I have a Lion Pride stickered as a Roar.

Between us we also have a fair few bats knocking about from various manufacturers and seasons, most of those have been stickered up as Lion bats for obvious promotional reasons ;)

This thread seems to have gone off on a tangent, so I will drive it back onto topic!

Congratulations on reaching 1000 customers, Jake.  As a fellow retailer, I can say that this is a pretty good achievement, especially for a shop that's under two years old! Lots of rain last year too, which didn't help.

Is that total online and in-store or just in-store?

Thanks Paul, think we ticked over to 1500 the other day. That's a total of everything that has gone through the books.

Occasionally someone won't want a receipt for things like net hire if paying with cash. We put that towards KFC and Subway ;)
