Slazenger batting gloves
« on: February 27, 2013, 04:25:44 PM »

Just spotted these....look nice and a decent price!!

http://www.sportsdirect.com/slazenger-advance-batting-gloves-854002

Had a pair of top of the range Slazenger gloves for a few years, they were great!!
What I fail to understand about Slazenger is how to really know what you are getting sometimes...
I googled this glove but only get results for all the companies linked to Sports Direct/Slazenger/Mike Ashley...same with the Slazenger  version of 'padman'(?!)

 http://www.sportsdirect.com/slazenger-xlite-lower-body-protector-857006

The closest I have found is this:

http://www.owzat-cricket.co.uk/acatalog/2013_Xlite.html

Which in turn seems to make the pair from Sports Direct look a decent shout!!

Thoughts anyone??!! 8)

I bet a forum sponsor could sort you out with some good gloves for a fair price.

Thing is,not really in need of a new pair, just saw them as I was checking out the 'padman'.
Liked them(and the price) so were they to be genuinely a £60 pair of gloves I might consider them.....
Were a pair of gloves that I liked(not used, sorry!!) to be wafted under my nose for similar(or lower  ;)  ) kind of price,I suppose I could be tempted!!

No need to apologise!!   ;)
Just find the whole thing with Slazenger a bit odd, most of the stock on their websites seem to be unique/exclusive to them....that said, these 'Advance' batting gloves look pretty good!!

Sports Direct now own Slazenger, and yes, a lot of the Slazenger range is exclusive to them, I don't think advance pads/gloves are even on my trade price list.

Based on the bags they have in their exclusive range, yes they are cheaper but the quality is nowhere near the stuff available to cricket specialists. although I have heard the bags have improved, my own experience from customers bringing them in to show me and then get a 'real' bag, is that they are not very well made at all.

I have a pair of these and I must say for £20 ish they are fantastic value. and very flexible I will almost certainly be buying another pair, a massive improvement from the red and green shockers from a couple of years ago.
