Anyone use them? Are there any benefits? Specials ways to think when using one?

Bought this early in the season with one of my bats

Due to a few low scoring games, decided to use it today. I middles a few(ignore red marks, was the only ball that made marks of several) and played most of the face. And only edged one.

So it certainly has filled me with confidence, but apart from that I don't see the benefit?

Any input On use or training drills with it would be appreciated. Tah

middling bats are more about giving a batsmen confidence before they go out to bat or in training to make them feel as if they are middling everything. they are not for everybody and its really personal preference on whether or not they help or not

Not really the case. The point of middling bats is that they are narrower than standard bats, so you have to concentrate on getting the ball in the right place on the bat or you will miss/edge it. By using the narrower blade, the intention is that you'll hit the middle more on a standard bat, which is why it is used in training.

Further to Tim's observation, I used one pre season and it improves confidence and focuses the mind and your eye-i find you concentrate more and watch the ball more closely...

Use it for the first 5-15 min then switch to your normal bat, that is when i feel a massive difference.

Been looking for one of these for ages. Used to use an old junior bat but I would like to replicate my match bat weight of 2.10 do any of the forum sponsors sell them?

Try Red ink and Aedos as I have bought training bats from both in the past.

Although I'm sure that any of the craftsmen on the forum could knock one up for you.

I think any maker will make one, it just depends on weather they want to ruin a decent cleft for one.
Which means they technically should be same price as a grade 3 bat.

But then, they may have some damaged clefts that would be scrap otherwise so get it cheaper.
Mine cost �35 quid, but it was already made and sat in b3 shop when I went down.

As for training, I probably did spend more time trying to watch and time it as opposed to bludgeoning it. Then after 15mins I switched to my mmi3 to proper bludgeon it.
