Mature Lavers...
« on: August 07, 2013, 02:44:07 PM »

After an explosion in the buying (and subsequently selling) of Lavers on the forum over the past 18 months or so, im wondering how many of them actually see game time? And how marked up they are! We see too many new bats on here.

Time for the dirty stuff, the experienced willow.

I would love to see some pictures of brown, loved Lavers! Lets show them off!

To start: mine is barely even out of the toddler stage yet, but due to the Ausie seasons, and weather,  it hasn't seen much use of late!

Your turn!

Mine's in the car. I'll venture out later and take some pics if people are interested.

With this bat I am having my best season ever. It has a fair bit of concaving and was hard like Simmy always says BUT i played it in at nets and persisted because the balance is perfect. now it simply goes. It makes that sound that Liam G wrote about in a great thread a while back. It's such a part of me, which sounds lame, I find myself carrying it about absent-mindedly at home.

A remarkable bit of craftmanship, far too good for me. I am a white spirit on the scuff type of fellow, so not many cherries... well apart from where my Nasser Hussain tendency to play with low hands results in more splicing than I'd like...

A well-played in face...

Where I seem to edge consistently ...

Great profile (for me)...

The concaving... (And a glimpse of house shoe...)

What a unique looking bat! I love the hight of that spine, and heck does it have some bow.

May I ask how long you've had it mate?

I ordered this bat after the forum Q&A last year. Only started using it at winter nets and all but a handful of games this year. It goes.

Bradman Reserve = 2lb9oz (match bat)

Both beautiful pieces of willow with awesome ping and sweet pickup
