my gray nics gn100 scoop
« on: July 29, 2013, 01:35:21 PM »

picked up the cheapo 'force' version with the fibre sheet / grain sticker early in the season as i had my heart set on a scoop and it was the only version they had in stock

its been getting lots of use and going really well, so needed a bit of a clean up

anyway i got curious and peeled off the fibre sheet to reveal the actual blade and true grainage, have a guess what i found......

......12 lovely straight grains and a dead knot the size of a 20p off centre in the meat of the bat

not great but cleaned out the dead wood, filled it, oiled it and applied fibreglass tape across the knot

looks (No Swearing Please) but performs really well!
