So long as it's wide enough to go along the back of the bat (so about half the width) you'll be fine

You still looking for a drawknife mate? I've got one that I bought off Ryan a couple of months back which I can do for �30 posted if you want it? It's got a slightly curved blade of a decent enough length and has only been used on one bat since I got it! If you're interested I can go take some pics for you
