So I decided I would strip down my new RK since the season has just finished and tidy it up. I've only had it 4 months so it wasn't too scruffy, but the Hammer Edge sheet was going red and there was a little but of dirt on the face of the wood where it had rubbed against something in the boot on the way to a game.
To my horror when I sanded it doen and took the grips off, I found that the shoulder has a crack in it. Approx 1 inch long going down the shoulder from where it meets the handle. I am gutted! This bat has felt so good since I got it, the handle feels perfect in my hands and now by the looks of it it will need a rehandle.
I hope it's fixable as I cannot afford to buy a new bat and after only having it for half a season there is no justification in doing so. However I haven't got any money to have a repair done on it as I will also want it to be sanded properly and restickered as my sander isn't very good. So really my question is, is this fixable? And if so how much will it likely set me back as a rehandle isn't exactly cheap and as the handle has been shaped I will want an exact copy.
As you can see from the picture there are 2 cracks, i'm not sure how far up they go but I would assume they go all the way to where the shoulder meets the handle.
