Just playing a straight drive - i'm not really sure how he managed to knock the whole back off.

This happened to a Hunts County Mettle i had when i was about 15. I played a forward defensive and most of the back of the bat fell off.

The guys at Hunts said it was the result of damage at the very bottom of the V of the splice (i vaguely remember a small crack running from the bottom of the splice into the bat itself) and it either occurs during manufacture or can develop during use. They replaced my bat. :)

I think it's caused from the bottom of the handle being slightly too big which increases the pressure/ stress at the bottom of the "V" which could result in damage.

Sorry for the delay I've had issues with photo bucket. This shows the crack just below the splice in exactly the same place. I can't really take it to the retailer i bought it from because my old man brought it back from London when he was working down there, so I'm not sure what to do with it- might send it directly to the gn returns dept explaining that its my second thats gone in a few months with pics etc- what would you guys suggest?

My word, I've never seen anything like that, it's pretty dramatic!
