last man standing
« on: April 04, 2012, 10:18:31 PM »

does anyone on here play in the last man standing leagues? I've only read about it today and it looks good. 8 man teams, 20 five ball overs. retire at 50 sounds like a good confidence builder.

I've played lms for the last four years. Its a good laugh but hard work and very competitive.

is the hard world due to the speed of it? I was having a quick read of the rules and 65mins for 20overs sounds like quite a lot.

I was thinking of doing it for a laugh and get a mixture of people I know who play. shall see what happens.

thanks

Played a fair bit this year as i hadn't played cricket in over 20 years so got me back playing twice a week with weekends. Thought it was good improved my bowling as everyone is trying to smash you out of the park plus you you can have a swing with the bat as well. The leagues in Manchester are pretty competitive but really enjoyed it as its a mini game in what would be a wasted nets session mid week.

Yeh i agree with that, makes for better practice than having a net. As its a competitive game. I think one of the manchester teams got into the world finals but lost to a team from surrey i believe.
