Match Bat and Net Bat
« on: October 14, 2013, 11:11:03 AM »

Just wanted to ask this question due to curiosity really.

I noticed on the "For Sale" section on the forum that people have bats up for sale that have hardly been used.the description usually is "used in nets 4 time etc".

How many people have different bats for nets and different bats for matches? If you do, why do you do this? Would you not want to practice with same bat?

I am under the thought process that this is done to prolong the life of your match bat - is this right? I did not know that a bat had an end life if taken care properly.

I have:

1 Northern Match bat
1 Southern Match bat
1 Souther match bat w/broken handle

1 Net bat heavy
1 Net/Wet weather bat.

The middle is approximately the same location in each bat, so netting with one doesn't affect the other.

The heavy bat I use at start of nets to build some of the last seasons lost muscle, find it helps bat speed when I switch to lighter net bat 4 weeks before matches.
