New butterfly bat
« on: July 22, 2014, 12:04:15 PM »

Not scoring any runs recently, so decided I needed a new bat.
Thought I'd go for one of these new fangled butterfly jobbies.
Anyway, here's some pics.  Will take some better ones later.

Weighs 2lb 12.5oz with 2 grips in long blade.
25mm edge.  not sure on spine height, probably around 60/65mm at a guess.  Goes like a tramp on meth and I've only just started knocking it in

They look better and better with every effort pal, churning out some top sticks. Nice work  :)

Cheers mate.  I've still got your middling bat.  Shall I give it to the hobbit when I see him next?

Thanks buzz.  I agree, it looked so much better before I started cutting into it, with not much stain evident on the back.  The deeper I got, the more it showed.  That and the flipping huge knot on the outside shoulder made life very difficult to shape!

Just to note, to me the side profile makes it look as if there's a ouch of concaving, but there isn't.  Will take a toe up shot later.

I cant hit it with a normal bat at the moment let alone that! But if you could pal that would be great, Ta.

Thanks.  Wasn't aiming for any shape in particular, but now you mention it, it does look a little like one!

At the end of the day if it goes well, I couldn't care less if it looks like a dog stick.

Sounds and feels really hard off the mallet and with the ball, but my ceiling has several dents in from where I've been bouncing the ball up and down, so it's nowhere near as bad as it feels.  Looking forward to get it in the nets to see how it performs.
