Do pros know about bat care and ignore it, or not need to care because they have so many bats?

Is there a beneficial reason to square edges? Thin edges less likely etc?

I suppose not rounding off the edges, will give a slightly larger contact area!
And the bats only gotta last one shortish innings

Would be nice to have a knock with one, just to see how light and how softly pressed they are

Can imagine the last thing they want to be doing is knocking in their bats... like you say especially when they're free!

Looking at that bat shows how hard it must be for bat makers to produce a bat for club players
We are gonna want the performance of that bat, but we want a minimum 1000 runs worth of use out of it without it looking like that!

Hats off to em

Yes, they break easier and you have an excuse to buy more bats.
