The Kookaburra Bubble which I ordered off Jake @ Vitas Cricket arrived today. I've been after one for a while, and was going to pre-order one initially but I never got round to it.
I inquired about the bat last Sunday night after I had had a few beverages, and to my surprise, Jake replied within half an hour or so. Which to me screams excellent customer service. He sent me pictures of the bats that met my specs on Monday morning and by early afternoon the transaction was all done and dusted and the bat was ready for knocking in.
Yes, I know going on the recent forum trend, I could have got better value for money going elsewhere or a custom made bat for cheaper... But I just wanted a Bubble. It's the model of my first bat and I knew sooner or later I would own the new model.
On to the bat. Jake said it weighs around 2lb 10 1/2 ounces and I'll agree with him. I never weigh my bats, just go on pick up etc...
I've only tried waving it around and it feels good. I didn't realised how flat the face was, I think in-keeping with the retro theme I would have preferred a rounded face. But that's just me being petty.
When it's compared to the older model of Bubble that I own...
