My B&S review
« on: March 09, 2014, 05:20:12 PM »

Evening all. As you may have seen under the Vitas post I acquired some B&S gear at the start of this year. I saw this gear at the forum event Jake held last year. Jake had mentioned before the quality of the Supreme bats and great value so I was interested then. At the event Garry was there with the 2014 range and I loved the colours and design of the L.E stickers and the softs as well. I'll be honest in that all the bats Garry had that day were quite heavy and felt the 2.12 etc that they were. However Jake had some 2013 Supreme bats left on the shelf and I managed to find a beauty at 2.10. So Garry agreed to see Jake some of the L.E stickers for this year and he would remove the supreme and add the L.E ones. I also ordered the softs.

So having gently knocked this in over the last few months it was time to unleash her onto the world today. Firstly when I went to nets today players were immediately attracted to the huge pink length hanging from my duffle :o. The bat sock is a bright pink but in honesty offers no protection to the bat but is a nice addition.

My bat like I said is 2.10 and grade 1 as you would expect from L.E range. Minimal concaving on this model which is my nor al choice on most bats. A large mid placed middle with chunky edges and a large toe. Personally I have more confidence with a bigger piece of willow. Grains are fairly straight but very evenly spaced. Pick up is Ok does feel a tad bottom heavy so may to change my grip set up on this bat and update again. Performance this bat is a 10 has a lovely sound when ball meets willow, no feeling through the handle from vibration and in fact an effortless feel to most shots. Can honestly say this is in my top 3 bats when I'm looking purely at power and is still in its infancy.

Softs are very comfy and the gloves are superb, arguably the best in my collection along with my pod players gloves. Took a couple flush on the gloves today and was no problem at all. Extra protection on forefingers really helps. Pittard palms and my favourite the WRX pittard or something like that, not the thick English pittard on these.

Pads again superb protection, lovely fit and come with a nice protector for the top strap to stop rubbing which is great.

I have been clearing out a lot of kit recently and will be doing some more soon but safe to say B&S gear will be with for a long time and guys this in my honest view is some serious kit and a great price point. Price and quality seem to be very big on here at the moment but for a new brand this is certainly some kit worth looking at.

Lol afraid not I'm just a kit geek. Although now that I spend more time learning at Salix I am clearing out a lot as its not right to be involved like I am and want to be in the future but use other brands. There will be some exceptions to that rule and this B&S gear is one of those.
