CCX 900
« on: April 10, 2010, 07:01:53 PM »

Went to see my friend who owns the local shop today.... couldn't resist the new Kookaburra CCX 900 he had.... hit balls with most of the top bats but he had the demo model in that Kookaburra had sent him and I just had to have it as its pickup and large middle were amazing!

Will let you know how it goes and will post some pictures once he's fully knocked it in for me.

http://www.kookaburra.biz/osb/itemdetails.cfm/ID/588

This will be my first ever kookaburra bat ....over the years I've had most of the other top brands and then my own bats so I'm really looking forward to taking this one out to the middle.

No longer producing them... simple! times were hard so I went out and got myself a better job but its very demanding which only leaves me time to play cricket rather than live it :(

Why a Kook then, surely for the money you could have got a quality stick.

The way I did it is get all the bats that pickup remotely how I want them too.... then I hit balls with them until I decided which one had the best and largest middle.
I narrowed it down until I had 3 which all happend to be different brands.... I had someone pass me the bats with my eyes closed until I picked out the one that I thought felt the best pickup of the 3 for me... job done.

This way I have no brand loyalty or gut feeling it just gets me the best available bat off the shelf.  I suppose we all have different ways of picking a bat but for me right now all I wanted was the best performing bat I could find.

The interesting thing I found was two of the 3 bats I narrowed it down to were bats supplied as demos clearly bat companies do not like to send any old dog out when promoting a new range.... good marketing I suppose.

I to have owned a few bats but never a Kook, personally I never really liked them. However I like your method of choosing a new blade tho, I'm sure it will play well

Yeah I would maybe not of chosen a kookaburra by any other method lol this is the method I was taught to use as a kid by my Dad he played to a high standard back in the late 60's early 70's and got his pick of a lot of bats through the county.
