Bat making in Asia
« on: September 28, 2013, 01:04:36 PM »

Quite an eye opening insight

Sorry the report is in Hindi.

But there is a bit of a piece on bat making at Sareen including their press and employees hard at work.

The workers make about 100 bats in 11 hours for a daily wage of Rs 200 ( 2 GBP approx ). Another thing that stood out was that they use soap to finish the bat.

well as the report is in Hindi, so most of the forum members will not be able to get what is being said....so i ll clear out a few things

1. THIS IS NOT SAREEN SPORTS

2. THESE ARE NOT ENGLISH WILLOW BATS

3. THESE BATS ARE FOR KIDS WHO PLAY WITH TENNIS BALLS/b]

i have visited sareen sports and they have a very nice infrastructure.....there are thousands of cheap bat manufacturers in india but the good names stand apart.....

I agree with Dave that the guy at the end of the interview is Jatin, owner of bat section of SS. It is true not whole of the report is made in sareen's factory.how old is this report, looks fairly old to me. sareen's factory is much better looking now a days.

Did'nt think much to the reporters practice stroke at the beginning of the film....too much bottom hand sunshine ;)

If I was hacking at the bats like that bare footed I would be sure to be missing a few toes by now.
