Hey guys. Has anybody had any experiences or seen first hand the Woodworm Black Label batting pads?

A mate used those for a season or two. Nothing particularly special about those pads. Is there a reason why you're considering them?

Puma softs are excellent value IMO. Really light, great wrapping around, comfortable and offer brilliant protection. You could probably pick up a cheap pair now in the end of season sales.

Hey mate, thanks for your reply.

I'm off to Australia soon, and trying to think of ways of saving on some luggage weight.. It's only a thought at the moment! Woodworm prices seem to stay the same over there whereas other brands prices seem to go up a bit in comparison (Buying over in Oz). I don't think that the Black Label pads look too bad, if they didn't have the logo on the bottom of the front they'd be perfect for me. I've got a couple of bits of Woodworm gear so thought I'd try and match them up.

If you are in the area you should pop into their warehouse in the western suburbs of Sydney. Sometimes they even stock players grade bats (full profile) which they usually reserve for their sponsored players. Probably best to call in advance as the warehouse is pretty out of the way.

Who do you reckon to contact, The Sports HQ Australia, Woodworm, or their distributour oo.com.au? I knew they had a place somewhere. I'm going to be in NSW, so there's a possibility I could get out that way to collect some stuff if it's allowed. Are you from Australia yourself?

Yep, I'm more or less based in Sydney. Call Sports HQ. I believe that Woodworm was based in Alexandria and had/shared a show room with oo.com.au, but now it is headed by Sports HQ and relocated to the western suburbs of Sydney (I'm hazy on the business structure).  The fellas that run the operation are club cricketers in Sydney and seem to be decent blokes. If you manage to get your hands on one of the players bats (obviously not advertised on their website), I'm sure the forum would be very interested in a review! You can also pick up black label stickers, if you wish to resticker the players bat.

The last I knew a guy called Nick Warren was a bloke involved with Woodworm in Aus. Yeah, I'll be a few hours down south of Sydney on the coast. So it'd probably be a trip up if its possible, I reckon I'll send an email their way first and see what they say to that. I'd end up grabbing a set of gear if I can grab a trip to their warehouse. Not getting my hopes up mind.

From what i have seen from my friend who is a sponsor from woodworm, the pads are nice and its pretty comfy even though i was only putting it on and not trying out in matches, but should be good value too.
