Affinity have a good reputation but I have never used one, I have just got a used B3 from a forum member so as to make my own opinion. BB: I have had 3, 1 I kept, 2nd went to a team kit and 3rd for a mate. All 3 were excellent, I ended up selling mine to a forum member (Tejaspatel) and he can correct me if my assesment on BB was overrated which I don't think it was.

So based on 3 choices you have listed I would recommend BB, don't bother with a Lam. You are a club cricketer, get a mid to low range BB, use it to see if you like it and if you do like then next time you can get a top of the line BB (Gold or LE or whatever it is called) and if you don't like then you haven't sunk a bagfull of money.

Tushar is right the BB is an amazing bat. Used it for a couple of friendlies and everyone including the opponents were impressed by the performance and the minimalist  design. Some of the team mates left their new GN, Kook and hunts county bats cause they really wanted to play with the BB.

As for affinity a team mate of mine bought a carbine yesterday and will get to see it in flesh this weekend.

Though it won't be match ready will update you how it feels and pings.

I have a BB Lam with a two-spring handle and its awesome really cracks when you connect. I don't use it in games though mainly purchased it so I could have a go with a lam (well its my second lam but wanted one with a two-spring handle).

Can't comment on the other two but wouldn't mind designing a profile with a crown cleft and Affinity bats look amazing can't say I've seen a bad one from the ones that have been posted up on the forum.

I have, or have previously, owned each one of these brands (Plus LOADS more!);
  • A BB Amplus
  • A B3 3-Stripe Custom
  • An Affinity Ayrtek
I am going to be honest, they are all a much of a muchness, if you excuse the phrase, in terms of quality and price.

The pressing, quality and price from all three companies is very similar - regardless of how each may say they are better (Of course they are going to do that, they are businesses competing for market share).

However, the customisation option from B3 allows them to have a USP which entices many 'badgers', Affinity are doing great things in sound resolution and finish and B3 just offer a beautiful/classical all-round package.

I know what I am saying is probably not going to make your choice easier but, in my honest option, whatever one you choose in the end, will make you happy. They are three of the brightest boutique brands out there.

A bat is a bat 90% of the time. All have decent reputations and I have used or seen none of the asked.

I have a couple of BB part mades which I am slowly working on. I am very impressed with the performance of the pressing so far and their customer service was top notch.

However the lams are supposed to be better, which would be even more impressive.

Whatever you pick, I am sure you'll have a top bat.

The forum as a whole had trialled many laminates. At the level of cricket most of us are at, buying a cheaper bat and a load of coaching sessions is likely to lead to bigger hits than buying a laminate. I've had one and while it was nice, it wasn't significantly better than other bats I have used. The coaching would do me more good.

Hello, towards the start of the winter nets I needed a proper bat. Previously had a macer cricket bat (which I would not reccomend) but, I came across affinity cricket. The service Marcus offered was great! He took in the information on what I wanted and in my eyes could not have created a better bat. Weighing 2'10, the carbine picks up a lot lighter almost like a 2'8. During the winter nets up at the county ground, I must say it doesn't half ping off the bat! Would highly reccomend affinity for a high quality bat!!

I'm slightly biased towards Affinity, as I have a Spectre, which is an excellent bat, well worth the money
And Marcus's attention to detail and overall service is as good as it gets.

Would also highly recommend Aldred bats and Asads Uzi pro bats, both of which are top end

Must admit tho, I would love a go with a lam!ha
