GRRRRR...today is not my day
« on: May 18, 2014, 08:58:38 PM »

so after getting bowled 2nd ball, and fielding like (No Swearing Please), i thought right, im gonna get this new bat knocked in so i can start to blood it in this week...no such luck. After knocking the toe in for about half an hour on thursday, i decided that it needed about half an hour more before it was done, however, as i was knocking it in, i noticed a crack start to develop, almost like the top layer of willow had cracked away from the bottom. I am not impressed/amused. Anyway, some advice would be greatly appreciated, what course of action should i ask for? given that this is actually a replacement bat.

here are some pics:

Sand it out. Tape it up. Hard to tell but doesn't look anything to worry about

Happened to me before when knocking in the toe, it's like a grain starts to lift.

Were you using a round mallet?

I just sanded and then applied tape but I do that on the toe of all my bats

Like that style.. That's when it happens to me.

I now use a crappy light, flat one right at the very toe and do that for ages before reverting to a heavier one.

No problem what you have done, sand it and it will vanish.
