A friend of mine ordered a bat for $450 from cricketmerchant.com (located in Illinois, USA) despite my attempts at convincing him to get a custom made from one of the forum sponsors. Does anyone know how good/bad this seller is ? From the number of likes on the FB page (~85000) looks like a pretty big seller. I was planning on getting some softs (whites, shoes etc.) but won't find about the reputation out until he receives the bat.

Mods: If this is not the right place for this thread then please move it to the appropriate section or notify me so that I can post it there.

Thanks,

I haven't used them but he seems to have legit bats. You can check them out at his YouTube Channel.

His stuff is genuine but hopefully your friend looked at the bat pics before he bought that. Reason being many USA retailers deal with one big supplier who directly ships from the warehouse.
So the bat may never be with actual retailer. So it's always good to ask for actual pic of the bat.

Navi,
Yes they are legit.I ordered a bat for one of my teammates last year and it turned out to be a belter. But I contacted Nipun Joshi and asked for the pics of the bats he had in stock (of the particular model I was interested in) and I picked the one I liked. So your friend could have done the same and Nipun was very prompt in his responses. But yeah, for $450 your friend could have got a lovely G1 bat from an of the forum sponsors here.

I think his bat is being shipped. I have heard of a lot of people starting their own brands of cricket bats in the last couple of years. I think most of them get their wood from Pakistan and are absolute crap.

Thanks Kal! How good (fast) was their service in terms of responding to queries and shipping ?

Nipun responded to my emails within a couple of hours and I got the bat in 3-4 days after making the payment. Pretty good and fast service I must say. And just curious what bat is your friend getting?

I think he is buying some players edition Kook. Did not bother asking him more as it was a Kook. I hate them. :-)
