Awesome oversized red ink custom

I'm in love with this bat! Such an awesome shape. John knows his stuff!

This is not a standard red ink bat, or standard custom one. As it's made with an oversized cleft. One of which I purchased from h4l via there eBay store, and then negotiated the build with john(happy with my previous red ink).

Criteria was low middle, medium sized edges, and as bigger sized spine as he could possible keep. Take as much from the shoulders as needed. Toe can be thin too.

What I received is better than I imagined, and was told the cleft is a dense one! Had it been lighter the bat could have been significantly bigger.

Pics.

As you can see it's not small, it's neither light either, but then I use heavy bats(2.15on my scale) but had the cleft been light, Im sure something a lot lighter could be made to this shape.

Service, bat took longer than normal, but then it did need pressing and handling, (which I believe john can do the first in house now), but I was not in a rush.
John is a great craftsmen, finishing is excellent, I ask for last years stickers, and received. And his communication is spot on.

Highly recommended.

I was gonna wait till my other two bats arrived(h4l and laver) but this has impressed me so much I could not wait!

Looks good, plenty of wood in the hitting zone! Which H4L did you end up going for?

Glad it arrived ok and good to see you are happy with it. It was a little on the heavier side cleft wise but I think it's turned out really well. I love the shape and will happily duplicate for anyone wanting one. With a combination of having to get it pressed, a trip to the commonwealth games and other orders it was longer than I normally anticipate but hopefully worth the wait.

Chris is also correct that I now own a press and do everything in house. I'll update a topic on the changes to my workshop when I get chance
