Who makes what bats for who etc...
« on: March 19, 2012, 11:30:12 PM »

Ok - most forum members probably know that not every brand in the world makes their own bats. It's possible for a company to subcontract bat production to a third party and then sticker these bats up with their own labels - old hat for pretty much everyone on here.

However, as the forum gains in popularity, we have to start being more careful about what is being said about who produces what, and for who.

Whilst it may well be fun to speculate about these kind of practices, we must bear in mind that we may be causing trouble for the companies involved, both in terms of damaging their brand, and also potentially their bat suppliers business too. Quite often in these arrangements non-disclosure clauses are signed - forum members bragging about their insider knowledge may well lead to the terms in one of these clauses being broken, which wouldn't be good news for any of the parties involved or the forum.

So please, wax lyrical about how great a bat is finished or how well it performs, but can we please stop carelessly name dropping batmakers who may or may not have been involved in the bats production.

If you bought the bat as Brand X, then it is a Brand X bat.

Thanks guys.

Thanks
