Never heard of them before, anyone care to shed some light. Also how do they know I like bats let alone play cricket?

I would suspect from this they're buying blanks from MSR and the 'hand finishing' would simply be them putting the stickers on not making them - I'll be amazed if they're actually made in the UK (especially at £145 - only Solitaire comes close to that to my knowledge).

I could well be mistaken but I don't recall any actual bat makers/cricket shops in Stoke other than the warehouse/base for MSR

The only bat maker in Stoke-on-Trent I know of is Shark. If you look at Sharks home page it says;

"Our range of bats are hand made and hand finished from selected willow that has been grown and harvested in Essex. Our Batmaker based in Bedford ensures each bat is made to our high standards and each customers specifications. Each bat is then hand finished in our workshop in Stoke-on-Trent to ensure every bat reaches our customers in perfect condition. "


Suspiciously similar if not the same as posts shown in neoncricket's post above.

Was gunna say, I thought Shark had changed bat maker? Although not a clue who they've changed to now - they always seem to do alright in the magazine 'unbiased' bat tests mind
