Not sure if it's been talked about on here before but does anyone else agree Adam lyth should of had an England call up this summer?

I am not sure. Maybe a ODI call up...

I'd take Alex Lees if I wanted another Yorks lad to step up.

I would be pleased if either of them got a shout to be honest. After watching the highlights from today lyth just seems to score so easily and fluently. I know it's a jump up to international but surely he could be worth a shout.

He is sponsored by the company our team captain owns.

He came down to the club in July to open our refurbished nets. Did a bit of coaching with the juniors and then put his pads on. Had the pleasure of watching him in action against a bola machine and our juniors.

Looked in top nick, only gave one chance all session. Two days later scored one of his 6 hundreds this season so far.

Yes he should have a call up on form all season, unfortunately due to timing (not flavour of the month) he missed out at the start of the summer and the next test cricket is not until April. Inevitably his form will not be as good when selection comes around again.

Anyway its Yorkshire's gain as he keeps giving us the platform to win games.

At this stage you'd have to take Lyth over Lees, who is maybe 12 months away from being ready.  Peanut has been superb this season - having been very very good last year as well - and fully deserves his chance.  Even if its pretty harsh on Yorkshire to have to provide more or less the whole England side!

So when the next test come round its possible Yorkshire will be providing:

Joe Root
Gary Ballance
Adam Lyth
Adil Rashid
Liam Plunckett (backup)
Johnny Bairstow (backup)

I'd say a fully fit Plunkett would probably make the side.  Not sure that JB will even make the back up slot though.

Some interesting banter on my Facebook feed. I have a few former playing colleagues from my old Yorkshire League club saying they hope Lees leap frogs Lyth in the race to international honours. Sounds like Lees is a good lad, whilst Lyth is a bit of a C U next Tuesday (...I never had the pleasure of playing against either)
