Final Question for the time being - if you had to fund major improvements to your club, what would you be happiest doing? - 3 votes again.

We debated this and the consensus was..... You want members, some are old/do not play regularly so shouldn't pay too much just to be a member. Charge the players who use the facilities and benefit most from the club facilities.
So long as everyone in the teams get a chance to bat and/or bowl they are usually happy to pay.

Same as below, we toyed with doubling our Suns as we now offer so much crixket compared to 5 years ago etc. However, as pointed out, why should the guy playing a bog standard 13 games a season pay high fees and subsidise hose playing 60+ a season. Charge the ones who use it most.. So, we kept subs the same but are raising match fees as it not only brings in more cash but charges those people better.

Added to other stuff like fantasy cricket, 100 club,mission nights, club currys, race nights etc

We've increased match fees to �10 on a saturday over 4 years at a �1 a year increase. Did the job with 6 league sides now paying �110 per week, and staggering the increase meant it didn't hit the wallet as hard.
Membership also went up by �10 a couple of seasons ago, but has since been frozen at that rate, as increasing it too much and too often could scare some people off.

Another suggestion!
When raising funds for our clubhouse to be renovated you could buy a brick at �10 each with a wall chart showing how many bricks had been bought, and how close to the target we were.
Also massaged some egos so people could say "I get this spot in the dressing room because I paid for half a brick" so everyone is happy

we have run a 100 club since the club started about 10 years we now actually have about 100 people. the money raised pays for our insurance every year.

when the football club built their changing rooms they sold of slates on the roof and then when we installed them we initialed them on the back

It's a combination of things imho. You need to fundraise and pay subs. It's a question of what works best and the perceived easiest on the wallet.

Do people set aside or "ring fence" some increases for specific items ie. pavilion repairs?
