Best pads for around £40??
« on: August 01, 2014, 03:41:17 PM »

Afternoon,
I'm looking to get a new pair of pads in next few weeks. I have a budget of around £40. Looking for something reasonably traditional in style. I'm around 5'9 in height so standard mens pads are usually fine.
Thanks

I've got a pair of Chase R7's which were £40. Cracking paid of pads.

Unfortunately they have 'SOFT TOUCH' plastered down the back of them, on the padding, so i get my fair share of piss take about that.

Im sure a lot of the guys on here have some fantastic offers.  I recently purchased a pair of Vanquish Pads for £35.00 and they are exceptional.  I don't want to bang on about them as I don't want to be accused of plugging a brand but they are well worth a look.  Failing that,  try the forum sponsors,  I had a pair of Vulcan pads a few seasons back and they were good, I have also had a pair of Larsons which were around the same price.  Wouldn't look at any of the big names as you will pay through the nose... bare in mind that the majority are made by the same guys.

SS // Ton pads are great for the money - I believe Asad of Uzi sports had a few pairs at that sort of money. Usually very comfortable and very durable.

I think the base level Salix ones may be around that money too - and they were pretty good.

VKS sports own brand stuff is really good value too

I got a pair of Blank Bat pads for 40. Awesome. Super light.

Not the hardest wearers but that wasn't a priority.

For super light and ultra comfy give the BB guys a PM

I'm just about to write a review on the VKS Superlite pads that were £36.99 - I would say they were a modern style though.

Lorimers have their own brand and their pads were £40 when I got them. They're really good pads for the price and mine are into their second season with life left in them - absolute bargain!
