Only one Sigma! surprise surprise. They get rid of the Zona, arguably a gimmick bat, due to poor sales and introduce the Sigma even more of a gimmick. Unlike the others that might hang around for a while.

And I like GM having just bought a Purist while I still could. Some good bats there, with good sticking. I know it is subjective but less is more when it comes to stickers.

In fairness i don't think they expect huge sales from these experimental bats. There does need to be room to put some innovations out there to the public though. There are only so many bats you can have in a range before it gets muddled so trying 3 things on the Sigma (alternative stickering, GM etching on the back, as well as the 'look what we can do with our CNC' / weight saving 'scoops') is better than having 3 separate 'gimmick' bats in my opinion. The Zona was the same. The first to carry the new stickering (loathed by most at the time, now i hear almost universally positive views) as well as an interesting shape that was never going to be everyones cup of tea.

I agree with you there.

The experimental stuff is good, I like the GN Nemesis for example, an innovation of sorts and appealing to some. The etching logo is cool, I can see that making its way into some of their other bats. For me the 'look what we can do with our CNC' / weight saving 'scoops' is just a tad much. The Zona looked like the shape was there for performance and functionality, like the Nemesis. The Sigma feels like form over function to me, but that is just me.

It's probably the photos. The Mogul and Six6 are quite similar, the Mogul does have a larger/higher spine. The Sigma has a high middle. Octane profile is very large with the swell being quite low. The Aura has the duck bill toe which is hard to capture properly in a photo, the Icon is the Icon, big high spine with a long middle.

Hey Guys ,

Can anyone tell me if the Octane has a ovalled handle now?. The pictures indicate that it does but I remember my old Octane F2 had a skinny handle ....

I picked up an Octane in Lorimers this morning, it didn't have an oval handle. The aura is a really nice shape, I don't think the photos do it justice. They didn't seem to have as pronounced a duck billed toe as in the photos and it's got a really full profile.
