Never done a review before but here goes. I was in need of pads and gloves so I saw the Select Cricket site and thought I would take a punt on a smaller supplier (compared to my normal Kookaburra gear).
Firstly, the customer service and delivery was first class which for me is a big deal. The pads are excellent in my opinion and although I haven't used them much yet I am impressed by the looks which have minimal branding but also have a similar look to some Newbery pads. The fit is good and I especially like the comfy straps, which I'm sure will be ideal when netting in shorts, as I like to do. Difficult to comment on the protection as I've not really been hit on the pads.
Gloves, are again excellent with minimal branding if somewhat different to my usual choice of 'sausage style', as they have used the ever increasingly popular multi section protection, which seems really substantial, yet flexible. Feel with the bat in hand is excellent and feel like I don't need to really wear them in, which could be due to the Pittards palms but I'm no expert.
Finally I chose to buy a duffle, which again is good quality and is massive and holds all my gear (with room to spare), and I especially like the fact that there is an integrated bat pocket. Having spoken to Select I know they took many months and lots of research to get the duffle as it is.
I really wanted to get over the fact that Select has made a good addition to the cricketing market, selling quality gear at prices that your average cricketer can afford.
