I am potentially looking at an orbital sander for Christmas to help me out with my refurbs. Simple question, what have you got and what would you recommend?

I'd recommend the cheap wickes own brand. Always worked for me.

Worked well for me! I'm sure others will do fine, but I would recommend getting one with speed options.

it all depends how much you are going to be using it. variable speed is worth the extra cash if you are going to be using it a lot. if its just for the odd bat here and there its probably worth looking at a diy own brand version. cheaper, but still does the job

Anything with a round base and random orbit.  Otherwise you get fine circular scratches all over your bat with a regular orbital sander

all the diy grade ones are much of a muchness, unless you get a really cheap one, steer clear of the very cheap ones, they may work fine, but its a better bet i think to spent a bit more and get something half decent. I personally would give wicks a miss,

Pro tip, get the tool from screw fix and the disks from tool station...
