Does anyone go to their cricket on a motorbike?
« on: December 08, 2014, 10:21:04 PM »

I do and it's a right pain in the (No Swearing Please), I'm not getting a car any time soon though. If you do, how do you do it?

I started off with two backpacks, one with pads and bat on my back and the rest in another strapped to the seat behind me but as well as being uncomfortable, it takes 20 minutes to get everything strapped up right . Now I just cram it all into one huge bag and bungee my helmet to the outside, and when it rains I cover it all in a black bag. It is MASSIVE, it's bigger than me and eventually it's gonna pull me off the bike in the wind.

I'm now thinking about having it all strapped across the seat behind me with the bat sticking it sideways, it's just going to take some practice getting it all strapped up.

Any suggestions?

Ha ha
It's surprising how much the wind catches the bat handle sticking outta the bag.
I found a duffle was the easiest way,, just slow down a bit

Maybe a simple idea but can you not leave the kit at your club? Just takes whites home to wash. When well at away games we meet at our anyway in the morning and then car share to save costs and all travel together just ride your bike to ground and then grab a lift. If you pay a mate a £5 to take you must be worth it to save the hassle .

I used to play with someone who balanced his bag across the back of his scooter, how he didnt fall off is beyond me. I guess more modern duffles arent of any help compared to more traditional bags?

Please do not do anything silly. We have enough dangerous bikers causing trouble on roads already. If any of your kit falls, it can cause accidents.

Just leave the kit at club or get a mate to carry the kit for you. or take the bus.

Don't do this!!!

You are just going to cause damage to yourself and others.

Well, I have considered this, but that only then makes the width of the bike as wide as a bigger bike like a tourer, I have crash helmets strapped to the sides  and it's never an issue.

That was the other thing I was thinking, the willostix spitfire duffle looked really compact and would've been great but it seems to have disappeared
