£80-£100 Net/Wet weather bat?
« on: January 03, 2015, 07:18:20 PM »

Hey folks,

I've been umming and aaaring about getting a net/wet weather bat, and wouldn't mind getting your thoughts on a goodun'.
Only requirements are that it needs to be up to £100, around 2lb 8 or 9, with a middle that's not too low, full profile and ping being more important than looks.
The GN F18 and GM Purist/Aura look to fit the bill well. Also remember reading good things about the 3 Star B&S Assegai too.
Any others spring to mind, chaps?

Funnily enough, I've been in contact with Jake about an F18, as it goes; and that SS does look really good - just too heavy for me.  :-[

Gah! I'm not yet permitted to see behind the exclusive velvet curtain of the 'For Sale' section, so I can't have a nosey at it.  :-[

Oh hang on, just realised that I'm only two posts away from the magic 150!
Do I need a tie to get in?
(And yes, this was a gratuitous post to get me one closer)   :D

Keep an eye out for B3 special sales, I've picked up a couple of gems for well below £100 in the weight range you want. Butterfly or marked on the face but lovely pick up and good response.

here's an example, by the way, the pics don't do the finish on the bat justice.

Will do, Trype. Thanks for the heads up. My match bat is a custom B3, so I'll definitely keep my beady eyes open for a B3 bargain.

And with that 150th post, the velvet curtain has parted. I'm now a made man - a CB Goodfella!

Just bumping this a bit. Anyone else know of any sales coming up from one of the forum sponsors or retailers?
