Bat Makers - Moisture Content of Bats
« on: January 09, 2015, 04:44:42 PM »

Do any bat makers measure the moisture content of their willow before or after making their bats.

Obviously the moisture content would have an impact on weight but what about performance?

Would bats that are too dry break more easily?

I'd be interested to know what the bat makers think.

I sell timber for a living and there has many good bits of timber ruined by poor drying / kilning.

Is the willow all air dried?

Cheers Russ
