KP: "... Cricket, cricket, cricket. Put all the garbage behind".

Thanks KP.

I muted the commentary and watched the game. Fawad Ahmed bowled a brilliant spell - most economical in the BBL history. Fantastic bowler!!!

Think it more being a case of Brisbane forgetting how to play cricket rather than Ahmed bowling well. Fred looked comfortable for 4 balls before being mercilessly run out.

That KP/Punter interview is interesting, KP comes across just massively insecure and a bit of an oddball if I'm honest, interesting that RP backs him up on the Swann/Prior/Broad/Anderson Cartel though. As someone said last night, "if Ponting thinks that then it's good enough for me", even as a Pom I have nothing but the utmost respect for Ricky as a player.

Yeah Brisbane heat haven't been great this BB. Not so sure about Ahmed being a fantastic bowler but each to their own - Id still prefer Old Hoggy over Ahmed as a spinning option any day of the week!

Ponting's comments were pretty interesting, clearly there are some in the England line up who back up KP - behind closed doors anyway.

Yeah, I can't see Punter backing KP without reason. KP does come across as insecure, but also someone who wants to give 100%. I'm sure he can require an arm around the shoulder more than others, but for what he gives you I don't think that's an issue Vaughan and Fletcher seemed to manage it ok. KP and Flintoff on mic was an insight and quite funny.

Vaughan and fletcher managed KP when he was just starting out in the England side, before KP wanted to miss test matches to play IPL cricket.
Anyone who has seen Nasser and athers yesterday on TV will know they both think England managed the whole situation badly,no doubt that's true.It was hopeless PR management.

The whole KP thing has dented English cricket for ages, whatever the wrongs and rights England have moved on and KP will be left to play the 2020 circus he so wanted when playing for England.
As Nasser said 'you don't know how much you miss something till it's gone'.

However...KP in my opinion was right about some issues, the fake genius twitter stuff should have been stopped from the dressing room, and Peter Moores is not a great coach.
Ponting and KP may be mates or RP may have seen a chance to twist the knife in English cricket? :)

it was an interesting interview. a little one sided, especially the 'strauss was a naughty boy' bit on tv. No mention of your texts to SA then KP? not really sure why he needed to bring that up when they are supposed to be ok now.

tbh I take most of what was said in that interview with a pinch of salt. He seems to be trying far too hard to fit in with the aussie mentality and make friends. anyone can have an opinion on camera, remains to be seen if punter actually thinks that. its probably a case that he didn't like the attitude the England boys gave out. absolutely fine for the aussies to do it but not us. the way half the aussie team portray themselves id say its pretty easy for any English player to make a list too.

does Morgan want him in the team? Probably. Most people would have him the in theam for his performances. on his day he is amazing. would you want to put up with all the rubbish that came with it? probably not. all this talk of him wanting to play against England and the constant chat over the last however many months really hasn't helped his chances. if there was a slim chance he would play again, I would say its gone now. t20 only gets you so far. not many players get picked in a test because of their t20 form.
